My route today, 9.8 miles. The final countdown!
(And yes, N, I finally looked up the course.)
SG’s office straddles Broadway and 7th Ave, providing a perfect view of the characters coming through Columbus Circle and then directly below us!
Thanksgiving started with a view of the Macy’s Parade from 30 stories. It’s easy being green when you’re about half the length of a city block!
Talk about a conversation starter! I couldn’t resist this lovely Romanesco broccoli at the farmer’s market this morning, and everyone who walked by my office stopped to comment on how incredible it is. Now I hope it tastes as good as it looks!
Professional work just can’t satisfy the creativity of an illustrator (or designer). One has to keep up with personal projects to avoid melting into a stressed, unhappy mess. The hope is that someday they will become profitable as well!
This brings me to illustrator Jessica Hische, who has a thing for typography. She shares lovingly drawn letters on her Daily Drop Cap site. Paste one into your blog today!
As my brother and I made decisions on our Thanksgiving menu on Sunday evening, I found this recipe for Wild Rice Dressing with Apples and Chestnuts in my collection. Luckily, we had friends coming over for Monday Night Football, so I tried it out on them last night! The nutty flavor of the rice perfectly complimented the soft chestnuts and sweet Italian sausage. Next time I’ll switch out Granny Smith for another variety that’s both tart and sweet!
